THIS PAGE IS DEDICATED TO CONVENTION OF THE STATES
COMES NOW THAT OUR COUNTRY IS EMBROILED IN TOURMOIL FROM LIFELONG DESPOTIC POLITICIANS.
The Founders provided several avenues for the citizens to pursue prior to taking up arms against a tyrannical government. The First amendment provides for:
The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.
I have often argued that this could actually have been 5 seperate Amendments to our Constitution. CDurrently our right to religion, speech and assembly have all come under attack by a political party that wishes to disagree with any point of view that is not in line with theirs. This is the TYRANICAL Government our Founders warned us about.
Our founders provided the Second Amendment provides for…
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed
In retrospect these issues were the most important issues of the day. To be able to Worship as you please. To own property, to be able to speak and write freely with out reprisal. To be able to gather without question, and to be afforded the liberty to redress our government with our concerns. To do the afore mentioned they also provided the ability for us to defend ourselves against the very behavior that is occuring today.
However, Before they established ANY Amendments, or what has become known as the Bill Of Rights or the first 10 Amendments to our Constition. The Founders established Article V as a last ditch effort before the use of force to protect ourselves from a TYRANICAL Government.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.
Below is a link for a petition for you to participate in addition to information on how you ‘The Forgotten Citizen” may become involved and volunteer to assist the efforts.of organizing in your state.
Will YOU be known as a patriot that helped to save our Republic? As a COS volunteer and a concerned fellow patriot, I want to express my personal gratitude to you for helping us drive this movement forward.
Today, more than three million concerned citizens and patriots have joined the COS movement to restore our constitutional liberties and save the republic. We face quite a challenge, but our goals are vital to the future of this country. These goals include:
- Imposing fiscal restraints on the federal government,
- Limiting its power and jurisdiction,
- Imposing term limits on its officials and members of Congress,
- Growing a self-governing, engaged grassroots army to help make this happen.
Missour (where I am currently located)i was the 12th state to pass the COS resolution, which is testament to our patriotism and resolve. However, we still have much work to do with the legislature in advance of a convention and the effort to pass the amendment. Therefore, whatever volunteer role you assume, your skills, talents and time are sorely needed.
If you have not already done so, please visit the Take Action page on our website and review the volunteer opportunities available. You are under no obligation to choose one of these positions and, in that case, we may occasionally ask you to contact your legislators in Jefferson City.
If you do sign up for a position of the state leadership team or one of the supporting positions, a COS team member will follow up with you for an interview. Until the interview, please watch this short video on COS.
If you have any questions prior to making a volunteering decision, please do not hesitate to contact me.
The Convention of States Missouri team warmly welcomes you to our nationwide family of concerned citizens and patriots!
