Another damaging decision from the courts…..<\/span><\/h2>\n

LOS ANGELES, C.A.,\u00a0Nov. 18, 2021 —\u00a0<\/b>California couple Alva and Alberta Pilliod will retain an $87 million verdict stemming from their lawsuit against Monsanto Company (now part of Bayer AG), claiming the company\u2019s Roundup weed killer causes cancer.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Pilliod et al. v. Monsanto<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>was the third Roundup case to go before a jury. The Pilliods had their case expedited to trial due to their advanced ages and cancer diagnoses.\"\"<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

In 2019, the jury in\u00a0Pilliod\u00a0<\/i>awarded the plaintiffs $2.055 billion, finding that Monsanto was liable for knowingly marketing a dangerous product. While the judge later reduced the verdict to $87 million, it went on to survive appeal. In August of 2021, the First District Court of Appeal in San Francisco\u00a0affirmed the verdict, finding that Monsanto demonstrated \u201cconscious disregard for the safety of others.\u201d\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>Yesterday, the California Supreme Court denied Bayer\u2019s request for review of the appeal\u2019s court decision.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

<\/u>\u00a0<\/u>\u201cThis is not even remotely surprising,\u201d\u00a0says\u00a0Baum Hedlund Aristei & Goldman attorney R. Why all this 30 year charade over this poison that has been proven in the courts to cause adverse affects to humans and literally poisons our food supply, has this product not been pulled off the shelves??? In regards to the Questions posed above…boy was I off. The reason the Law Firm is no longer accepting NEW cases….that is very important.\u00a0 distinction. There is a product called Dicamba<\/a> that has also been around for some time. Dicamba is a broad-spectrum herbicide first registered in 1967. Brand names for formulations of this herbicide include Dianat, Banvel, Diablo, Oracle and Vanquish. This chemical compound is a chlorinated derivative of o-anisic acid.<\/p>\n

This poison gained momemtum when all the lawsuits started with Glyphosate. Many farmers have sued because of the drift effect that Diacamba has<\/a>. We currently have some questions submitted and will update this when we receive them…<\/p>\n
